David Wessel of the WSJ writes that the FT is a great newspaper, but that Greg Ip's story http://online.wsj.com/article/SB115828334132463875-search.html?KEYWORDS=Geithner&COLLECTION=wsjie/6month about Tim Geithner's Hong Kong speech has more information in it than David Wighton and Peter Thal Larsen's http://www.ft.com/cms/s/8d3e1c1e-4442-11db-8965-0000779e2340.html.
David is right. Greg's piece is excellent.
I guess I am going to have to admit that I haven't read any of the WSJ yet today--and it's well after lunch. Today I've been using Mark Thoma, Felix Salmon as economic news preprocessors...
Isn't it ironic that most of what Salmon is writing about today was written by Barry Eichengreen, currently sitting ten feet behind my back in his office? in Singapore. I guess I'm not going to talk to him today about our joint course this fall, am I?

FT rocks hardcore. and its editorial page writers have, uh, brains. icing on the cake.
