Same thing happened to me starting last Wednesday. Google changes the algorithm and suddenly, BANG, the inbox on my smartphone (powered by Gmail) is completely empty. Took me two days to find my messages in the spam.

My Yahoo email is more selective. Only the really important emails go to Bulk. The nonsense emails come through quite properly.
