Apple Enterprise Value = Market Cap + Debt = $162 + $2 = $164bn
IBM Enterprise Value = $156bn Market Cap + $75bn Debt = $231bn
The division between equity and debt is a pretty arbitrary decision on how to optimize the capital structure of a corporation.
