As the mother of a 17-year-old Down syndrome son, I found Sarah Palin rather interesting and, yes, even inspiring -- even her 'direct into the camera' line about being an "advocate" for those families with these types of challenges.

Now I don't care at all whether she's male OR female -- or even that her sister has a developmentally challenged 13-year-old, SHE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA YET WHAT IT WILL TAKE TO RAISE HER SON, TRIG. I am a single, full-time working Mom, and I can say from years of experience that, as wonderful as her son will be for that family, as mine is the light of my life, most likely he will be more challenging than all her other children put together. It will forever be an uphill road...and I don't care if the grandmother ends up helping out or her husband becomes a full-time stay-at-home Dad.

And does she really think that John McCain will REALLY give her any kind of REAL things to do? I mean, geez, this is the guy who said that all the VP needed to do was check on the pulse of the President each day, that's all! C'mon! Get real.....
