Ceci N'est Pas Une Blog - It's Christmas Eve and You Know What That Means:: Time for my favourite Christmas Eve story.
One night, Confucius had a dream about chopsticks. In the dream, he was taken to hell where he saw people sitting around tables piled high with wonderful foods of all kinds. The people were staring longingly at this banquet but, as they had been told they could only eat with five-foot-long chopsticks, they were unable even to taste any of it. No one could figure out how to eat with five-foot-long chopsticks--the problem could not be solved by any of them and they were crying with hunger and frustration.
Then Confucius was taken to heaven where he saw the same scene--tables laden with glorious food and people sitting at them having to abide by the same rule: they could eat only with five-foot long chopsticks. Except these people weren't hungry--they were talking and laughing and eating as much as they liked with their five-foot long chopsticks.
Because in heaven, they were feeding each other.
