The carmaker said that in response to “the continued lack of consumer credit for the American car buyer”, and an accompanying drop in sales, it would make “all manufacturing operations” idle from tomorrow night. “Impacted employees will not return to work any sooner than Monday January 19,” it said, highlighting that in a recent meeting at Chrysler headquarters dealers complained they had lost 20-25 per cent of sales volume due to lack of financing...
